Addictions (First unit)


Hello!!!

Today I am going to introduce unit number 1 which is about addictions this introduction will be focus on vocabulary  also grammar.  Hope you like it.

First let me define what is an addiction.
 Addiction: it is an uncontrollable behavior towards something.

So let's begin with the vocabulary involve in this unit.

 Addict: Noun, someone who has and impulsive behaviour.

 Therapy: treatment of a problem by talking about it.

 Surf: inside the unit context is to use the Internet.

 Engaging in: taking part of something or get involve.

 Turning each other in: identifying to the authority.

 Devoting: using time and effort for an activity.

 Compulsiveness: inability to control certain behavior.

 Support groups: people who meet to help each other with a problem.

 Coming out: becoming publicly known.

  Fulfillment: personal satisfaction.

                             Grammar  

 Now talking about the grammar on this unit we are using the subjuntive mood, or let say expressing a no real situation also express regret, I am talking about wish of course inside the unit context.

 Expressing a no real situation in the present.
   I wish my mother were a good cook.
   wish+verb to be in past (were)

 Expressing  regret. Past wish. Wish+had+past participle.

  she wishes hadn't gone so late from the party.

Present wish. Wish + past fomr of the verb.
Katy wishes didn't watch that movie again.

 Presen and future wish
 Wish+would or could

I wish I could get a well paid job.
              would

Past wishes.
Wish+could have+ past participle.

Freddy wishes he could have bought other car.
