Honesty is the best policy. Unit 2.

Be honest is one of the values which make a person be better. This can be saw as a great virtue, being sincere with others, truthfull , have integrity, be loyal, among other characteristics, but is always good to be totally honest? . In a short story of R.K.Narayan called Like the Sun,the main character Sekhar is a school teacher who decides how to deal with the truth at least for a day. His firts test comes at breakfast when he criticizes the cooking of his wife. The second test comes when a coworker coments about a fine man who past away and Sekhar answered that the man always seemd to him as a mean and selfish brute. And the final test comes when Sekhar criticizes the music of his headmaster. At the end of the day Sekhar ends up carrying the anger of his friend and his wife and  sat up all night with a hundred test papers that was a small price for the luxury of practicing the Truth.

We experience directly the effects of our  actions, the results of what we do. Truth is like the sun because no one can see strait out the sun without been hurt by the bright sun light.

Nayaran's story pose this challeging question: Is it better to tell the absolute truth or to modify it for the sake of getting along with others?... Next video is about this...
