Unit 2: Honesty is the best policy.


When we tell a lie we are just fooling ourselves because, in the long run, we are the affected ones. When we are caught telling a lie people start distrusting us and it is very difficult to win someone' s trust again. 

It is recommendable to always the truth. That way we will have a good reputation and we won't have to worry about getting caught lying. 


vocabulary:

put one over:  People always try to put one over on each other, that's why we always have to be careful.

Relentless:  I'm relentless about taking subjects because I want to graduate soon.

Finely honed:  My teacher has a finely honed sense of teaching

Pervasive:   Call centers are very pervasive in DR

Trivial: Whenever I meet my friends, we start talking about trivial topics.

Tattle:  My eyes tattle on me whenever I lie.

Mislead: Parents don't like it when their children mislead them.

Veneer: The veneer of politicians often decrease because of their lies. 

Conceal:  I couldn´t conceal my happiness when I graduated. 

Intrusive:  My mom is very intrusive, she always go through my stuff.

Erosion: My cousins and I don't talk to each other anymore, there was an erosion in our relationship.

Inflated:  My ego is very inflated
